Tennis - Fed Cup - Mauresmo still says NO

Amelie Mauresmo has not changed her mind. Even officially called by the coach Georges Goven to compete in the first round of the Fed Cup in China on 2 and 3 February, the Frenchwoman confirmed Friday that she would not, according to the newspaper L'Equipe. After a 2007 season marred by injuries and an early season difficult 2008 season, Mauresmo (18e World) has decided to give priority to her individual to try to rejoin the top 10.

Another question mark before this perilous trip: participation or not Marion Bartoli, who also had announced would be exempt from this meeting. The fate of Tatiana Golovin also remains unknown, since the player, injured her back, did not know whether she would be able to take her place.

Good for Amelie!

I'm glad she is sticking to her beach..er..I mean guns! :D

It would be ridiculous of her to fly all the way to Beijing for a couple of matches and then all fly all the way back to France to play the gaz two or three days later.
